The Offspring desperately trying to stay relevant.
I used to be a big fan of The Offspring, but this album is a disgusting display from a band trying to capture the hearts of mainstream music listeners who probably also enjoy the likes Nickelback and Hinder. Sure, The Offspring has been mainstream since Smash, but at least they had a soul. Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace is devoid of almost any personalty, and it is the band's most disappointing release yet.

Back To Their Best
I've been a fan of The Offspring since their first album and have watched their music change direction slightly which isn't uncommon for a band who's been around for over 20 years. After Conspiracy Of One and Splinter which were good albums but not as good as previous ones, I was pleasantly surprised that Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace is The Offspring back to their best. In my opinion this is the best album since Americana and possible the best yet.
There isn't a single song that I don't like and not a single song that I feel the need to skip (which is quite unusual for me). The Offspring are back on top and look like they'll be there for many years to come.
Amazing album and it gets better the more you listen to it.

first 4 songs good then it turns to ****
I'm a long-time Offspring fan, so I was dissapointed by this CD. The first 4 tracks were really good, then the whole rest of the album really really sucked. Seriously. You've been warned... 2008-08-01

Consistent Quality Amazes Me
I have grown up listening to Offspring, from their first self-titled album to now, and I have to say that though their sound has evolved quite a bit from where they started out, every album they've put out has been consistently awesome.
This most recent album has a more produced sound which may take a bit of getting used to, but I found myself loving the album from the first listen. Along with many catchy tunes, it features a few more soulful songs than previous albums, notably Kristy Are You Doing Okay and Fix You. Though these are not the classic style of Offpsring, they are brilliantly written pieces of music, and should not be scorned.
It comes down to the fact that the band writes music for themselves, not to please audiences. I am glad that their music has stayed consistent in quality and that they have avoided the trap of making every album sound the same (I could name other bands here but I won't =P).

Good to hear from Offspring again...
But this CD is a little too serious and ...well...calm for my taste. "Stuff is messed up" is classic fun Offspring and most songs are pretty good but I can't say any of them have really stuck with me yet. 2008-07-24
