maximum exposure for a great song
this is a very catchy song. a driving beat that keeps pushing the song forward, and is similar to the drumline beat in Destiny Child's "Lose my breath." the video for this song is also imaginative and worth looking up on youtube.

this song is, for better or for worse, groomed to be a megahit, whether you like it or not.

This song has already has been on the airwaves (radio), and the music video is equally impressive. If that wasn't enough, the song will hit the big screen in the movie "Get Smart" with Anne Hathaway and Steve Carrell. And in case you don't see movies, don't watch MTV/VH1, or listen to the radio, the song is also featured in SunSilk TV shampoo commercial.

So if you like this song, you're in for a treat, as Warner Studios are going all out to make sure that you WILL hear the song sometime this spring/summer. If you don't like this song, you're in for a loooong spring/summer. This song is worthy of all the effort going into promoting it. and if you don't think so, just listen to it again and again and again.

An imperfect song with great promise
Reading many of the reviews by people who have listed to this song repeated times makes me wonder how objective this approach can be (despite some of my recent reviews!). Perhaps the true measure of a song is how it bears out on its first listen. Tellingly, fans tend to divide neatly in half: one side (primarily younger fans) tend to love it while the other side (primarily older fans) tend to dis it. On first listen (and I'm writing this having just heard it one single time), I remarkably have to conclude neither. It is just middle of the road, neither great nor bad. As a standalone product, it lacks a certain unique character and indeed fails to stand up on its own merit. But this song has great promise as a platform for remixes and further development. It's like an unfinished product that is (barely) good enough to release on its own but is inspiring in its unrealised promise. I have to say, I'm quite keen to see what the likes of Junkie XL and Tracy Young will bring to the picture. If they fail to deliver, I may despise this song. Otherwise, I may adore it. After all, her mixes have always tended to inspire me more than her originals.

Madonna fails to impress
I heard this song over and over again, just waiting for it to get to me. And well it got to me in all the wrong ways. It's just simply not catchy whatsoever. I think it's rather annoying. I expected way more than this, especially because it features Justin Timberlake. But perhaps that's the reason why she fails to impress me. She normally stands out ALONE. But this time not so much. This is also the first time for a while I'm not excited to hear the entire album, just because of the fact that this song is just a let down.

Hopefully the rest of the album will not be as dissapointing as this song is.

Not really feeling this.....at all. Definitely looking forward to the dance remixes, though. Madge will turn those out without a doubt!!
