Hairspray - Soundtrack To The Motion Picture

My 16 year old daughter loves this cd. She also loves Zac "HOT PANTS" Efron, as she calls him. This soundtrack is pretty good.

Too bad they didn't include both versions of "The New Girl in Town" - just the Britanny Snow version. Oh well - maybe the next release....

I just had to buy this sound track from the movie "Hairspray" 2007, which I saw 5 times at the theatre. My favorite song is "Mama I'm a Big Girl Now", sung by Ricki Lake, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Nikki Blonsky, and this song prompted me to buy the sound track. Other favorite songs are "Good Morning Baltimore", "I Can Hear The Bells" and "The New Girl in Town". The entire CD is great. I'm happy to have bought it. Can't wait to buy the movie when it is released. Nikki Blonsky is so cute and has a wonderful voice. She's perfect to play Tracy Turnblad. I don't know where they found her, but she's absolutely perfect. She'll be a big star someday. She already is!

It's great listening to this CD and reliving the movie scene-by-scene. My favorite song is "Without Love" and my son's favorite song is "You Can't Stop the Beat." We can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD.

I have a long daily commute and I use music to keep my sanity. Like the movie, this soundtrack is fun, upbeat, and provides a wonderful distraction from the traffic. If you love musical theatre, you can't go wrong with this one.
