Across The Universe

The soundtrack for the film Across the Universe takes the listener through much of the Beatles play list and makes it new. A wonderful way to introduce young listeners to the genius that was and is the Beatles. The performances and new arrangements are fresh and exciting. A great CD to have in your car for a private sing along or when traveling with the whole family. It will stir your heart.

This CD takes classic music and blends it with a true, earthy sound. A variety of artists come togetether to juxtapose music, decades, and culture. This is truly a testament to art.

If you liked the interpretations of the Beatles songs from the movie, this CD is good. It doesn't have every single song, but has most. I'm particularly fond of the Gospel rendition of Let it Be.

My favorite track on this compilation is by far Come Together, which is an excellent track when Aerosmith did about a thousand years ago. The entire package is a nice well rounded mix of artists and more artists, each arrangement is a thoughtful, compelling performance that for uplifts the presentation and shines a very good light on the performer that is presenting. If you like the movie and would like to carry some of the memories along with you, then take a listen to this disc.
