Pop Appeal
I just bought he International Version of Come On Over. Many of the singles we've heard on pop radio with these remixes. They are well done and lend well to pop. In some cases the mixes are even better then the original country ones.

Some highlights include You're Still The One, You've Got A Way, Love Gets Me Every Time, If You Wanna Touch Her Ask, etc etc.

Oh by the way to the reviewer who defended Shania by comparing her to Dolly. Dont even bother. The reason Dolly was successful in pop crossover is because in whatever she crossed over to, it still had its country roots, and they didnt remix the song for pop, it just stayed the same version on all formats. Shania is great, but she releases different versions to different formats.

Listen to Her!
Shania is the best when it comes to country songs, but this album is a fusion of country, rock and pop. A different and unique listening experience!

Shania = The Best
I would just like to say that this album, along with Unplugged by the Corrs, is probably the best album I ever heard, Right from You're Still The One through to Rock This Country, Shania shows off her incredible voice, on 16 excellent tracks.

A flawless performance indeed, Ms Twain.

Cool classic country from Canada!
The detractors say that this album is just a Def Leppard album going country. Even worse is that critics say this is a ripoff of Bryan Adams' Waking Up the Neighbors going country (since the chord progressions are a mirror image) or that the vocals are overproduced. The critics are WRONG!

Shania Twain has made long strides to improve so that this album wouldn't be become 'another slow drawling album typical of country musicians'. I find nothing wrong with merging rock with country. Those who can't stand that fusion of styles might as well not listen to Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton or even Garth Brooks! too.

Most of the naysayers are bashing Ms. Twain for 'not being enough country'. Well, what can be said when Wynona Judd and Dolly Parton give their stamp of approval to Shania Twain! Shania Twain along with Faith Hill are at the top of the country market right now.

Unlike The Woman in Me Shania Twain along with her husband present songs that are more up tempo. The ballades are there for those who love hearing them.

In terms of production and songwriting Lange has shown that he is still striving to deliver good songs. Come On Over silenced those critics who thought he would just be known as a co-writer of (Everything I Do) I Do It for You and decline from there.

How Come on Over became the biggest selling Canadian album AND country album of all time is still a wonder. Neither Twain nor Lange planned such an outcome. A similar situation happened with fellow Canuck Alanis Morissette when she collaborated with Glen Ballard. Shania Twain could write with other songwriters but nobody would have come close in producing such a classic pop/country album as Come On Over except for Robert 'Mutt' Lange.

Man! It's amazing what this woman has done!
Shania has truly done the unthinkable...AGAIN. This time, much of the country sound has been eliminated off the tracks and replaced with a wild blend of country, rock, and pop...all in one. The mixture sounds awesome, and to top it off, her voice is wonderful! Shania really knows how to pull off a weird combination quite nicely! While each of the tracks has its own sound, the flow of the music runs really well. After all, who wouldn't smile after hearing something as absurd, yet true, as "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" or "Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)"?

This album really deserves 6 out of 5 stars!
