Smart humor!
This has always been my favorite. True, it's long, but it really has great punchlines. George knows ow to crack me up! "Airline Announcements" will make you laugh and think at the same time. Espiecially the ending of the cd. So nice. Get it today!

Golf courses and cemetaries for the homeless. Brilliance
George Carlin is my favorite comedian. He brings more depth, more intelligence, more feeling and also more laughs per capita than any other comic in the business today. At 64 he is on top of his (and everyone elses) game. This CD (which was preceded by a special on HBO) is definately one of his best. It contains some of his most pointful works, with something that will make you think after the chuckle is over. For instance, it would be ridiculous to name a restaurant for bulemics called the Fork and Bucket, but aren't the values that come with that restaurant also equally if more ridiculous. That is the type of point that Carlin often makes in this special. Even when he isn't talking about the big world (his bit Little things we have in common), he can still identify with an audience and even more with his core audience. That is the mark of a really qualified and exceptional comic.

Other bits include: Rockets and penises in the Persian Gulf, Airline Announcements, The Planet is fine, and Golf Courses for the homeless. Also to point out, his comments on the Dick Chaney and Colin Powell are awesome.

A monument in George's stand-up comedy!
I think George should be proud of this album. However, you have to know what was going on at the time to understand The Persian Gulf War material.Little Things is very funny, though I wish I saw it.Airline Announce ments(which is about 17 minutes)is truly his funniest work, right next to "There Is No God."Golf Courses for the Homeless is more thoughtful than funny, but when he talked about aneroxics, I fell over with laughter. Espiecially with the way he says "I DON'T WANNA EAT!"Then the great punchline after that,"Go F%$k yourself. Why Don't you stand in front of a railroad track when you're not eating!"Then, the monument of the entire album, "The Planet is Fine"Very thoughtful, very funny, and this is his best work.Anyone who's a Carlin fan,get this album!

Another great Carlin CD
I'm a fairly new Carlin fan. I've read his book (Brain Droppings), and listened to 3 CDs (You are all Diseased, Jammin in Nw York, and Back in Town). "Jammin" is certainly as funny and if not funnier than the others. Airline Announcements is hilarious, and Things We Share is timeless. Jerry Seinfeld has immitated many Carlinisms from this album, and he cant even compare to the master of comedy. While George's albums are hilaroius, they do speak some truth. They make you laugh about things important to you. He gives you a sense of humor about yourself. I cant wait for the next album.
