Tribute To The Music Of Bob Wills

this product wae as advertised. I was already familiar with it so it was nothing new to me.

It's the greatest country album I've ever heard. Fabulous, rich vocals. Nifty pickin'. Light banter. Delightful. Thank you, Ray Benson.

btw: First review here I read said something about the "rhythm section bein' a bit stiff?" I've owned the CD for 8 years, and I've never heard anything remotely 'stiff' (nor has anyone else who has heard my copy). So, ignore that remark. Check out the samples here at Amazon for yourself. (I also collect and webcast 'swing' - if you have to pat your foot to it, it swings. And this is a foot-tappin' CD).

Most tribute albums disappoint, but not this tribute to Bob Wills that was assembled by Ray Benson, leader of the western swing band Asleep at the Wheel. Many of of the album's guest artists are country greats, such as Dolly Parton, Garth Brooks and the late Chet Atkins. Their stature doesn't overwhelm the music.

Asleep At The Wheel have done a great job on the Bob Wills tribute CD. Although this is an older recording , it re-invents this Texas style music I really like and gets me back on track to start playing the good old tunes again on my fiddle..

This is a great CD. The selections are awesome. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys country/country swing.
