Let's Get It Started

"Let's get it started" was the Black Eyed Peas' party anthem,before they became the ubiquitous,annoying musical fixture they are now. It's a turgid mixture of hip hop with disposable bubblegum pop. Before Fergie, the Black Eyed Peas was a creative Southern rap group;thanks to her,they're Yet Another Annoying Group.

"Let's get it started" has the apt lyric "let's get stupid." It describes the whole song. It IS stupid,and it isn't even dumb fun. The rapping is like a candy wrapper--it's immediately tossed out. Unfortunately,this song propelled the Black Eyed Peas into their aggravating super-stardom,appearing at Live Earth,the Princess Diana memorial concert,and reviving Michael Jackson's career. "Let's get it started"...should STOP!

I like this song which is really a little classic even tho it is a jingoistic thing from 2003. The hook is fantastic and the vocals are great. Now if they could just get rid of the hip-hop lead in...
