Excellent
The original/remastered sound retains the original feel of the music. Quality is excellent. The CD had all of the major pop hits plus some other good choices, e.g. "It's Nice to Be Out in the Morning" and "My Sentimental Friend".

FYI: I've been a record collector and sometimes deejay since the 1950s.

Most of the hits contain in the CD are my favourites in the early 70's. Quality wise and packing when receiving the goods are perfect. Even though this is my first order from Amazon, Iam fully satisfied with the service and updated information provided by the Amazon group. Iwould not hesitate to purcahse my next order in the near future.

OUTSTANDING SOUND BUT???a
Yes, I bought this CD and I was taken back at how great the sound quality was. Totally stoked! I love the Hermans Hermits and I was always a big fan of them. However, the group's most successful Non-Greatest Hits album was their first. So why did they not include (I Understand..Just How You Feel) which later became a hit for Freddie and the Dreamers or (Sea Cruise)? These songs were played on the USA radio KFWB all the time. So, you'll need to buy the rare and out-of-print Italian CD "Hermhits" which includes all the great songs by Herman on this CD and the missing songs mentioned above. Oh, and "HERMHITS" has the original songs in TRUE STEREO with a nice booklet and a Psychedelic Cardboard cover. Go for it!

I must be a 'tard to like this stuff
Definitely retro and clearly a studio band, it was still great to hear some of these titles again. And I'm not talking 'Enery or Mrs. Brown. It's the songs that didn't linger on the top of the charts that sound the best after so many years--Dandy, No Milk Today, and Museum. Overall, it's a great diversion for riding in the car. Can't say I want to play it too loud when some young turk pulls along side and revs his engine, but it made me feel happy.

An Excellent Collection For A Highly Underrated Band
They weren't as innovative as The Beatles. Or as edgy as The Rolling Stones or The Who. And their songs lacked the sardonic brilliance of The Kinks. But even so, Herman's Hermits still rank in the upper echelon of the best bands of the British Invasion simply because their songs are some of the most well crafted pop singles in recorded music.

The 26 track collection "Retrospective" boasts an impressive lineup of Hermna's Hermits classics, such as "I'm Into Something Good", "Can't You Hear My Heartbreat", "Silhouettes" (my personal favorite), "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter", "I'm Henry The VIII, I Am", "There's A Kind Of Hush (All Over The World)" and many other big hits as well as a solid sampling of underrated minor hits such as "No Milk Today" and "Musuem". There are no serious omissions, and the songs sound fantastic.

The liner notes are an interesting read and the price is highly affordable, but it's the music that really draws you in.
