Hard Sun

Imagine my surprise when I overhear someone's radio playing Indio. But wait, it's not the obscure but brilliant song from "Big Harvest". It's Eddie Vedder...solo. I am underwhelmed. Everything the man does sounds like one big HEE HAW. My rant aside, if you like this song, seek out the cd by Indio. The whole cd is solid and the original of Hard Sun is way superior. It's worth whatever you pay for it.

Now, for the most part, I've hated Pearl Jam for a certain song that defamed my given name. But anyways, when I heard this song on Slacker Radio, I was actually pretty impressed. Vedder makes this a interesting, epic folk song, that could very well be the theme song for New Mexico.

The vocals suit the song very well; the arrangement is great till the very end when an out-of-place electric guitar is. But that's really the worst part of the song, although some might be bored by its repetitiveness.

So overall, a pretty good song, that might surprise some people. I also found out that this song is actually not an original song, but a cover of some obscure song.
