should sell well enough to warrant a second album
just kidding--I have no idea how well this will sell, If the album is in fact titled "Come On Over"--I just wanted to say how crass it is to name it after a Shania Twain album--shouldn't there be some professional courtesy involved or at least a 25yr. statue of limitations w/in the same genre?

I am glad Jessica Simpson put a country song out this time. I hope she records more

Don't Come On Over Jessica
For Jessica Simpson, the past several years have really shown to be more about her public divorce from her ex-husband Nick Lachey. Sadly, though that also suffered through her music as well, with her last record, 2006's A Public Affair. She really thought she had lot her vibe in Pop, so she decided to try country for a whirl. Her latest single, Come On Over, the fiest from her country-crossover Do You Know, really feels like a bunch of sour grapes that misses the mark by a longshot. She doesn't feel like she is trying to capture the ground of country-pop success in the ways we've seen Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Carrie Underwood from American Idol make it. Instead, she feels like she is a mistep in the wrong direction, to capture again the triumph she had with These Boots Are Made From Walkin' a few years ago. I really wasn't impressed with the song at all. I wish Jessica could try to make better songs, but this one feels like a near lemon that makes Come On Over, a bit sour.

Entertaining as heck.
I'm impressed with Simpson's vocals on this track. I'm a moderate country fan, I prefer the more POP sounding country. Usually, however, one compromises talented vocals for good sound/instrumentation: This song breaks that "mold". Job well done by Simpson and the songwriters.

I think more pop artists should enter into other genres.

You Go Girl!
Jessica has success in pop and tv, country is just the next frontier. Jessica has always known where she came from and we, in Texas, love her for that! For every person who isn't capable of appreciating your talent, three more will follow you from Pop. No worries, just another hurdle you will overcome! We're right here with you!
