Calabria 2007

"Calabria 2007" is a catchy dance anthem that's become ubiquitous thanks to a Target commercial during the Olympics. The late Danish/Sudanese singer Natasja Saad provides a smooth soca rap. It blends European club sensibilities with the breezy,summery rhythms of the Caribbean. Natasja showed great musical promise (she would be the first singer to get #1 on Billboard's Dance Pop chart posthumously) Her singing is saucy and fun.

"Calabria 2007" isn't the sort of song that demands a listener's attention. It's perfect for happy hour at a bar,accompanying cocktails, or for commercials. It's a good song. Natasja had a beautiful voice,and much talent. Tragically,she passed away last June in a car accident in Jamaica. In this song, she lives on.

What a Great Dance Tune. Although we've heard this sax riff before in the Original Calabria (released years ago), Natasja adds a nice touch with her fun banter. The Soca type beat makes this a hit on the dance floor. Forza Calabria !
