Beat Konducta Vol. 1-2: Movie Scenes

Beat Konducta is a compilation of SAMPLES that Madlib created and if you are into sampling, producing, or freestyling then this CD is for you. Lots of tracks on this CD, but they are short. As a producer you can use the tracks and loop them on Pro Tools to create your own beats or have an emcee flow over the beats. If you don't appreciate samples, music production, incomplete tracks, etc this CD is not for you.

You have to respect Madlib for sharing his samples/creations because he puts a lot of time and heart in his productions and I had to get this to hear what he has in the pipeline. I enjoyed some of the samples on this but would rate the CD as average since I like complete tracks to listen to. 3 out of 5 stars in my book. Respect to Madlib, Stones Throw, and Lootpack.

Its funky slow hiphop soul at its best- well-produced without silly overindulgences- much better than many of the instrumental hiphop albums ala shadow. In fact i think this ranks right up there with endtroducing.
This is great for kicking back and headnodding- many classic soul samples some old school hiphop and a little funk- Great cd- has a lofi vibe thats perfect for the style- Madlib is certainly one of the best and stacked with old lps as is evidenced in the sound.

Finally after reading reviews and listening to snippetts, I broke down and bought. The tracks aren't that long but they deliver. Can't belive i slept on this as long as i did. Better late than never, right! If you like tight beats without all the garbage lyrics of most of today's hiphop, then this cd is a must have.

Since The Lootpack days, he's still doing his thing as in terms of putting work as in terms of production. The concepts of the music are off the chain although they're short as in terms of the cuts, but I guess it's basically use your imagination is what the album gives off. If you're into the Hip-Hop Instrumentals this is the one to purchase and this by is by far the best from Madlib, and I am looking forward to purchasing other projects in the future.
