Nice intro to this music
Heard about this CD on NPR and I'm happy to have it as an overview of this music. I'm an over 60 jazz buff but enjoy having some variety in my music collection. I also enjoy some world music, but am no expert. This fusion is good road music (just took it on a 6000-mile drive), but it does start to sound a lot alike after a while. 2008-04-14
Poor Rip
This cd is poor rip of original indian pop music album. .probably targetted to american audience to quench their thrist for Indian punjabi music..
of course the music is good.. but why should that credit go to DJ Rekha.. who has just done medicore job of mixing..
very bad... dont waste your money.. just buy some original bollywood pop...

Excellent - period.
I pre-ordered this one!! My friends in NYC have been talking and going to Basement Bhangra for years. I've never made it to the NYC ones, but during the album release she was down in Philly and I made it out (and bought 3 t-shirts) ... chak de!! This CD is straight up sick/hot/amazing. Tracks 1,4, and 8 are my favorite. thanks Rekha and looking forward to the next one. 2007-11-29
it's good
I have been to basement bhangra at SOB several times. I really enjoy the music there and had high expectations from this CD. Even though I like the CD but it is below my expectations. I think it's good but I have a better time at basement bhangra. Don't regret the purchase though. 2007-11-29
FINALLY!!!!!!
As a fan of DJ Rekha for many, many years, I cannot tell you how pysched I am that she finally has an album out. The ONLY downside to her shows were that when it was over, you couldn't keep listening to her infectious grooves and beats in the car on the way home (or at home at your own personal Basement Bhangra party!). Suffice to say, this is going to be my go to holiday gift this year. 2007-11-29
